Solutions To Common Failures Of Slurry Pumps

1. The slurry pump cannot be started.　

First, check the power supply: whether the connector is firmly connected; whether the switch is in close contact; whether the fuse is blown; whether the three-phase power supply is equal. If there is an open circuit, poor contact, blown fuse, or missing phase, find out the cause and repair it in time. Secondly, check whether it is a mechanical failure of the pump itself. Common reasons include: too tight packing or blockage between impeller and pump body by debris; pump shaft, bearing, and leakage reducing ring are rusted; pump shaft is severely bent, etc.

Elimination method: loosen the packing, dredge the water diversion tank; disassemble the pump body to remove debris and rust; remove the pump shaft for correction or replace with a new pump shaft.

2. The slurry pump does not turn.

The solid and hard sediment in the volute is blocked, and measures can be taken to remove the silt.

3. Insufficient flow of slurry pump.　

If the impeller or water inlet and outlet pipes are blocked, clean the impeller or pipes. If the impeller is severely worn, it should be replaced. If there is air leakage from the packing port, the packing should be pressed tightly.

The power speed of the slurry pump is not matched or the belt slips, which makes the speed low; the blade installation angle of the axial flow pump is too small; the lift is insufficient, the pipeline is too long or the pipeline has a right angle bend; the suction lift is too high; the bottom valve, pipeline and partial blockage of the impeller or impeller defect; serious water leakage in the outlet pipe.

Remedy: restore the rated speed, remove the belt grease, adjust the belt tightness; adjust the blade angle, reduce the installation position of the water pump, shorten the pipeline or change the curvature of the pipeline; seal the leak of the water pump, compact the packing; remove the blockage, replace the impeller; replace the leakage reduction ring to block the leakage.

4. The pump vibrates and it is noisy. 　

There are mainly the following 5 reasons: ①The medium density is uneven. The uneven density of the medium causes the pump to vibrate when it is just started. When the pump is turned on normally, the vibration of the pump will disappear. This situation does not need to be dealt with. Just pay attention to blowing the medium with high pressure air before driving; ②Pump installation is uneven. The level of the pump body should be checked during installation and operation. ③There is cavitation, which makes the impeller of the pump unbalanced. The installation height should be lowered, the outlet valve should be reduced to reduce the inlet resistance. ④The intake pipe is uneven. The feeding condition of the pump should be improved to strengthen the uniform stability of the air intake. ⑤The pump bearing has a large clearance. Excessive bearing clearance will cause the pump to vibrate. In daily equipment operation, you should always pay attention to the condition of the pump. It is found that the pump shaft and the motor shaft are not concentric, or the bearing is damaged. It should be dealt with in time.
